Art Basel Hong Kong.

COURTESY ART BASEL

The start of 2018 still seems far away, and China is halfway around the world, but here we are, sharing with you the exhibitor list for Art Basel Hong Kong, which opens to VIPs March 27 and runs through March 31.

As with the other Art Basel fairs in Miami Beach and Basel, Switzerland, there will be a lot to see at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The fair features 249 galleries from 32 countries spread out across sectors such as Galleries, Insights, Discoveries, Kabinett, and Encounters. Of the 28 new galleries, half are from Asia. Some New York mainstays are making the trip to Hong Kong for the first time—including 47 Canal, Gavin Brown’s enterprise, Commonwealth and Council, JTT, Miguel Abreu Gallery, and Petzel Gallery—as well as Hannah Hoffman Gallery from Los Angeles.

In the different sectors, Insights will focus on historical projects, Discoveries will feature emerging artists such as Timur Si-Qin, Carlos Motta, and Morgan Wong, and Kabinett will place curated exhibitions the the booths.

And there are 24 hometown galleries participating in the fair, a strong showing for Hong Kong.
